Two Weeks with Doc

May 2024

Back in May of 2024 one of the world’s two flying B-29s made an unprecedented tour stop at Lehigh Valley International Airport as part of their History Restored Tour. What started off as a normal stop to fill time between airshows quickly turned into something more as thousands of visitors came to see the iconic aircraft. With record breaking crowds, it was apparent that one weekend was not going to be enough for the Lehigh Valley. After participating in the Dover AFB Airshow, Doc returned just two weeks later to once again soar over the Lehigh Valley for another sold out weekend of ride flights.

I had the incredible privilege to spend time on the flightline alongside the renowned photographer, Brett Schauf, as Doc’s crew prepared for a Saturday evening flight over the Valley. Special thanks to Brett as well as Josh Wells for their time and the opportunity to get up close and personal with such an iconic aircraft.
